Walk On Words

As someone who spent some of the most formative years of their life as part of the BSU football program, I find myself reflecting often on the experiences, the camaraderie, and the invaluable lessons I learned during my time on the field. The pride I feel about being part of that legacy has stayed with me, and it’s something I hold dear every day.

As I continue to look back on those days with gratitude, I’ve also been considering ways to give back to the program that gave so much to me. One of the ideas that has been taking root is establishing a scholarship aimed at helping walk-on athletes who are looking to attend and play football at BSU. This scholarship would not only provide financial support but would also serve to honor the traditions and the spirit of BSU football, allowing new generations of players to experience the same opportunities and memories that we were lucky enough to have.

BSU football has a history that I know we all take great pride in. We’ve witnessed the highs, the unforgettable moments, and the growth of a program that has shaped countless lives. The work ethic, discipline, and teamwork that were instilled in us as players have stayed with me in every aspect of my life. It is my hope that this scholarship will help cultivate the same sense of purpose and brotherhood in the athletes who come after us.

After being diagnosed, I felt it was now or never to make a difference.  I’m uncertain how much longer I’ll have the time and energy to enjoy the normalcy I’ve been accustomed to, but I want to make sure that the future holds something meaningful—not just for me, but for the community I’ve always been a part of.

Part of the intention behind the scholarship is also to raise awareness about Parkinson’s disease. The journey ahead will no doubt be challenging, but I believe that by sharing my experience, I can contribute to a greater understanding of the disease, perhaps even inspiring others who are facing similar struggles. If you love Boise State Football or you are a part of the Parkinson’s Community, you are a key part of my life.  Whether through your thoughts, ideas, or contributions, your involvement in this endeavor would be invaluable. Together, we can create something that will leave a lasting impact on future athletes and raise awareness for a cause that is now very close to my heart.
